I am so freaking behind with the times. I was wondering why we hadn't heard anything about it yet.

Oh well, August will be here before we know it.

Hi all

its been many a year since I have been here [shy] , so I will go back over to Isobelle's landing to reintroduce myself but I thought I might give you a new update on release dates.

I have been checking out the Amazon website and they have two release dates. Why two do you ask? Well they seem to be releasing the electronic version in July and the hardcopy in October. Now I went and bought myself last year a Kindle (electronic book reader) so this is how I know about the electronic release. It seems the current dates of electronic release are July 27 (in the US) and the hardcopy is October 26. Thats for both The Sending and The Red Queen. It appears that Australia's hardcopy (paperback I believe) will be released around the same date but I can't testify to that at this stage.

A warning about the electronic release - its for US citizens only (they have different copyright laws to us) so don't get all excited thinking you will be able to get it - unless you have a registered address in the US you won't be able to buy it. Quite possibly one of the bookstores or electronic companies here in Australia will be able to release it also by then, so you will just have to keep an eye out. That being said I don't mind in the slightest waiting until the end of the year for my real copy. I figure its worth waiting for. Also, Amazon tend to change their release dates on occasion, so it could change, so I am just giving the warning now.

So that's it. happy waiting... [mrgreen]

Yep, it is pretty confusing. Today I checked out penguins books australia which is IC's publisher for Australia. In the bibliography of IC they've added some new information. Check out this link for more information about IC and her books.

Hi all
more news - went over to amazon to take another look and have found the electronic editions have been removed from the website - including all the other obernewtyn books - which I was intending to get. But I figure this is a good thing - since when should electronic release preceed hardcopy release?

And this does mean that October 26 is looking like a more sure release date - especially when I checked with my local A&R (angus and robertson) who also have that release date. If there is more agreement - it looks better and better for us to know they will be released on that date!

woohoo!

I just had a look at amazon and I hate to tell you this but I think that's the American release date for The Sending because the American cover is featured there. As for the Angus and Roberston site, I'm not 100% sure about their date either because they have described the american edition of the Sending. But, it must be the 26th October 2010 because the Border's website has this. So, it is looking better and better.

Here we go! October 26th it is!

Me again

checked amazon again - and while I know its American which can be a misleading for us as we always nearly get everything after America - I can say that the Kindle edition of The Sending has been re-instated for October 26, 2010. So if the electronic edition is being released on the same day as the hardcopy, that means its looking more and more like a global release date! I went in to my local bookstore and they said they had that date too!! Plus the rest of the obernewtyn books are back online and available ! - Yay! now all I need is some money for them!

I am now checking Borders websites and etc and they all have May 2011. Surely this is not correct. I don't think that sounds very realistic. I wish we could get a confirmation of a date that wouldn't alter every month or so.

The bookstore sites are often wrong, so I wouldn't trust them to be right. Basically we're not going to know a date for sure until the book has been completely edited and is definitely finished, and then Penguin will be able to schedule it to be printed, and will be able to give us a final publishing date. I'm sure once an actual date is known for sure, we'll be told. Until then, there's really no point bothering Penguin - they can only tell us what their current prediction is, which really doesn't tell us anything.

I know how you feel, so thanks for your support. *hugs* (I've acquired a lot of patience through waiting for these books for over ten years, or I'm sure I'd be with you in really wanting to know! As it is, I'm just hoping it'll be out early next year at the latest!)

Hi all
So I had been checking out Amazon again - and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the release date they now have is 8 November 2011! Hmm. I will check with my local bookshop to see if their release date is the same. All I can hope is that the new time frame might mean a) Isobelle wants to refine the books (always a good thing) or b) the publishers are just being stick-in-the-muds!
anyway - if we have waited this long a little longer won't hurt! I have too much to read at the moment anyway and since I intend to re-read the Obernewtyn chronicles before the sending is released, now I have more time to catch up!
see you all round about!

Thanks for the update - I was wondering what had happened with Amazon, because the listings seemed to have disappeared. That said, I'm pretty sure we're still looking at the first half of 2011 in Australia. The later release date for the US could be to give Isobelle a chance to rewrite around the split again (like with Wavesong/The Stone Key). *shrugs* I guess we'll see. [:)]

Thanks for the update. I thought the launch was in the first half of next year, so we are looking for an release before July next year. I would never rely on amazon and apparatently you can pre-order the novel so I'm going to do that late this year. Hopefully, the sending will be worth the wait. [mrgreen]
